Überraschung für Gordon - 13.11.06

Heute zweisprachig, da der Großteil der Beteiligten der deutschen Sprache nicht mächtig sind.

Today, all in English and German, as the majority of the accomplices do not understand German.

Jaja der Gordon. Am 8.11. hat er sich aus dem Staub gemacht. Ist schon wahr, jeder möchte an seinem speziellen Jahrestag seine Familie um sich haben, besonders wenn eine Person erst süße zwei ist und über das ganze Gesicht strahlt, sobald der Papa in die Nähe kommt. Auf diese Weise war er zu seinem 26. Geburtstag leider nicht bei uns.

Gordon basically buzzed off on the 8.11.. We understood that, as everybody likes to be around his beloved ones at that special day of the year, especially if one of them is a cute two year old girl, which always smiles as soon as she sees her father. Unfortunately for us, this meant, that he was not here to celebrate with us.

So ganz konnte er sich aber nicht aus der Affäre ziehen, denn wir lassen uns nicht so einfach einen Geburtstag entgehen. Schon vor einer Weile hat Gordon erwähnt, dass auch eher gern eine Flagge mit den Unterschriften aller neugewonnenen Freunde hätte. Dies konnte ich einfach nicht irgnorieren und habe kurzerhand die "Internationale Gemeinschaft" dazu angestiftet ihn zu überraschen. Nach dem Sammeln vieler Unterschriften und sorgfältigen Aussuchen geeigneter Konfisserie, haben André und ich die Geschenke in einer Nacht-und-Nebel-Aktion in seinem Zimmer deponiert. Gut, dass Gordon vergessen hat, wer seinen dritten Schlüssel mit sich trägt ;-).

But he could not really shake us off anyway, because we won't miss a birthday of a friend. A while ago, Gordon mentioned, that he wished for a flag that is signed by every newly gained friend. There was no way that I could irgnore that and decided to put everybody up for surprising him the day he returns from Germany. After having collected a lot of signatures and chosing the best sweets, André and I put the gifts into his room. For that, it was more than convenient, that he forgot who still had his third key ;-).

Um 23 Uhr kam dann die ersehnte Nachricht aus dem Nachbarhaus, Gordon ist gut zurückgekommen und hat sich riesig über die Überraschung gefreut. Als Dank gab es sofort eine Einladung zu einem Fass Bier. Da es gerade mal Montag ist, hat sich die Mehrheit für ein Verschieben auf Freitagabend stark gemacht und dies auch durchgesetzt ... ach ja, ein wenig mehr Freizeit hätte Gordon sicher besser gefallen. Hauptsache ist - das Geburtstagskind ist glücklich.

Finally, at 23:00 Gordon sent a message that he just returned and he was more than delighted to see the presents. In order to thank us all, he invited us to a barrel of beer straight away. With regard to it being monday, the majority of the involved people voted for a postponement until friday ... Gordon certainly would have appreciated a bit more spare time at this point. But the main point is - the birthday boy is happy.
